Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF)

Ceramics Filter

GPF is a ceramic substrate made from Cordierite with alternately sealed channels forming inlet and outlet.

Walls separating each cells serve as filters that remove particulate matter (PM) in the exhaust gas of gasoline vehicles.

In India, gasoline vehicles with Direct Injection system must be equipped with GPF from BS6 Stage-2 exhaust norm which come into effect from April 2023.
